Over the past 3 years, YouTube has paid content creators and YouTubers over 30 billion dollars.

Just in 2019, it's observed that YouTube contributed 16 billion dollars to the U.S. Gross Domestic Product. This roughly equates to about 345,000 full-time jobs, according to Oxford Economics. CEO Susan Wojcicki also emphasizes that Google's video-sharing service, YouTube, has paid content creators over 30 billion dollars in the last 3 years.

Wojcicki mentions that content creators diversify their income streams on YouTube. She also notes that last year, the number of channels earning the majority of their revenue from Super Stickers, Super Chat, and memberships tripled. The number of new channels joining the YouTube Partner Program has also more than doubled in 2020.

In addition to her statements, Wojcicki didn't neglect to summarize some changes that YouTube is considering for the coming year. In particular, YouTube aims to be more transparent about policies that affect content creators and make improvements in the appeals process. Additionally, YouTube will begin asking content creators in the United States to voluntarily share details about their genders, races, ethnicities, and sexual orientations to better understand what's happening on the platform for different communities and help make it a better place.
